Yvonne Tejeda is a licensed professional counselor, yoga teacher, and mindfulness meditation specialist. She earned a bachelors degree (BA) with a major in psychology and minor is sociology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio in 1998, a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Counseling psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2003.

Yvonne became licensed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2005 (Texas Lic #19838 went into private practice within the San Antonio community in December 2008.

Yvonne has worked with a diverse population within the mental health field, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, working closely with single parents and their children, the Center for Health Care Services, working with adults with comorbidity substance addiction and mental illness, the Jewish and Family Children’s Services, providing individual and family counseling and couple counseling. She also worked closely with Office of Drug and Social Policy Research at the University of Houston, the Bexar County Juvenile Probation Department, the University Health System, and the San Antonio Independent School District, and surrounding school districts, providing mental health services such as individual counseling, family counseling, anger management classes, psycho education classes, and consultation to staff.

Yvonne is one of the first contemporary practicing psychotherapists to incorporate EMDR, somatic body techniques, yoga and meditation into therapeutic approaches, which enable people to overcome their own trauma and suffering and live the life they deserve, returning eventually to their true self.
